Ultimate Irish Coffee
1 1/2 measures Irish whiskey
1/2 measure coffee liquor
1 measure vanilla syrup
2 measures espresso
Whipped cream to top
Serve in a hurricane glass
Garnish: cocoa powder
How to make: Gently heat the ingredients i a small saucepan till warm, but not boiling. Pour into a hurricane glass and top with whipped cream.
Valentine Martini
2 measure raspberry vodka
3/4 measure lime juice
1/2 measure sugar syrup
6 raspberries
Serve in a martini glass
Garnish: raspberry
How to make: Add both ingredients to the shaker, shake vigorously and double strain into a chilled martini glass.
Vanilla Fix
2 measures bourbon whiskey
1 measure lemon juice
3/4 measure vanilla syrup
1 tsp grenadine
Serve in a coupette glass
Garnish: lemon wedge
How to make: Add all the ingredients except grenadine to a shaker, shake vigorously and double strain into a coupette glass filled with crushed ice, then gently drizzle the grenadine over the top.
Vodka Gibson
2 1/2 measures vodka
1/2 measure dry vermouth
Serve in a martini glass
Garnish: cocktail onions
How to make: Add all the ingredients to the shaker and fill with cubed ice. Stir for 30 seconds and strain into a chilled martini glass.
Vieux Carre
1 measure rye whiskey
1 measure cognac
1 measure sweet vermouth
1 tsp benedictine
2 dashes angostura bitters
Serve in an old-fashioned glass
Garnish: orange twist
How to make: add all the ingredients to the old-fashioned glass filled with cubed ice.
Vodka Sour
2 measures vodka
1 measure lemon juice
1/2 measure egg white
3/4 measure sugar syrup
1 dash orange bitters
Serve in an old-fashioned glass
Garnish: lemon wedge and cocktail cherry
How to make: add all the ingredients to a shaker and 'dry shake', without ice for 10 seconds, the take the shaker apart and add cubed ice. Shake vigorously and double strain into an old-fashioned glass.
